FAQ
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s played on a smaller court with a perforated plastic ball and can be played as singles or doubles.
The game is easy to learn, social, fast-paced, and adaptable for a wide range of ages and skill levels.
The game begins with an underhand serve hit diagonally into the opponent’s service court. After the serve, each side must let the ball bounce once before volleys are allowed — known as the two-bounce rule.
From there, players rally until a fault occurs, such as hitting the ball out, into the net, or allowing it to bounce twice. The non-volley zone near the net, commonly called the kitchen, limits where players may volley the ball.
Most recreational games are played to 11 points and must be won by 2.
Pickle Alley is locally owned and built around more than court rentals.
With 14 dedicated indoor and outdoor courts, a full weekly schedule of Open Play and organized programming, private-court access, coaching, and a 2,800-square-foot gym and recovery space, members have multiple ways to play, improve, and spend time at the club.
Just as important, Pickle Alley is designed around connection. Whether you come for a competitive ladder, a social Open Play, a workout, or a private game with friends, the goal is to create a place where people want to return — not just for the courts, but for the community around them.
Not at all. Pickle Alley is designed for every level of player, from someone picking up a paddle for the first time to experienced competitive players.
If you’re new to pickleball, start with Pickle 101, a beginner clinic, or a private lesson to learn scoring, serving, positioning, and the basics of game play.
From there, Rookie Play gives newer players a comfortable place to get games, meet other beginners, and build confidence before moving into broader Open Play and competitive programming.
Absolutely. Pickleball combines cardio, balance, coordination, agility, and quick movement in a way that feels much more like playing than working out.
How intense it gets depends on your level and style of play — a social Open Play session can be approachable for newer players, while competitive games can be a serious workout.
Pickle Alley Members can also use the gym and recovery space to warm up, build strength, stretch, or recover before and after playing.
Pickle Alley has 14 dedicated pickleball courts — 9 indoor and 5 outdoor — plus a 2,800-square-foot gym and recovery space.
The club also includes showers, lockers, a pro shop, free parking, towel service for eligible members, and spaces designed to make it easy to warm up, play, recover, and spend time at the club.
Whether you’re coming for Open Play, a private game, organized programming, or a workout, Pickle Alley is built to support more than just your time on the court.
A regulation pickleball court is 20 feet wide by 44 feet long for both singles and doubles. The net is 36 inches high at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center.
Pickle Alley’s courts are built specifically for pickleball, with permanent nets, dedicated lines, quality lighting, and comfortable playing surfaces.
Most of our courts use a 30′ × 60′ playing footprint, while four tournament-sized courts provide additional surrounding space for competitive play and larger events.
Absolutely. Pickleball is a great sport for families because it’s easy to learn, social, and adaptable across ages and skill levels.
Pickle Alley welcomes junior players and families through private court reservations, lessons, clinics, camps, and other youth or family programming offered throughout the year.
Check OpenCourt for current programs and age requirements, or contact us if you’re planning a family outing or looking for the best way to get a younger player started.
